The second day, we went to Shanghai University of Engineering and Science. This university locates in the suburbs, and it took about one hour to arrive at the university by bus.
The campus of the university was very large. I heard about 12,000 students study here.
As the day before, many guests made speeches. All speeches were translated into three languages, Chinese. Korean and Japanese. It was a very time-consuming work. The language to be used in international conferences should be standardized by using English.
Through the conference, I was surprised that some of Chinese and Korean people can speak Japanese. In the drinking party at night, a Korean person told me that about 30% of all professors can speak Japanese. Chinese students I met previous day also said they know Japanese because they often watch Japanese cartoons. I didn't imagine Japanese is so popular among Chinese and Korean people.
Frankly speaking, I couldn't find novel researches through the conference. But I was able to find many new ideas and points of views. The travel and conference was very meaningful for me in that sense.
I hope to go to China, and to see my friends again.
